Our weekend...

Our five year old is taking charge. I know he's been running our lives since he was born... this was more formal. He put pen to paper and set down the plan for Saturday.
Mmmm, wave pool with bab (dad) and a go on the water slide. Then sushi.  Then home. Kids today hey? We'd never heard of sushi when I was five.

Unfortunately it didn't quite unfold like that. A motorbike dinged the car (okay the car might have dinged the motorbike). The trip was delayed a day and after the wave pool we went home BEFORE we bought the sushi.  There were wails of disappointment from the master planner - 'we can't do that, that's not what I wrote!'

He'll learn that you can write a list or make a plan but it might not quite come off as you'd hoped.

  2. Ooh, Ann! A classic. I hope you're stashing that away. Joshie has just started writing but I can't imagine him doing a list like that. Not yet. Is he a Virgo by any chance? Or is an organising gene emerging from the gene pool, somewhere? J x

  5. that is gorgeous. They do get annoyed when things don't go to plan don't they. I guess routine is a bit of a security blanket. Love the 'bab'.

  10. I love these precious letters. You almost don't want them to ever change. And he obviously wanted to keep his promise to himself about going on the waterslide. That shows loyalty and commitment. Yes, and what is it with sushi? Even my miss faddy fusspot likes her sushi! xx

  11. How enterprising, and a good writer! Maybe soon he'll learn to get you to sign his plan to guarantee that it will be fully carried out.

  12. Ann that is wonderful. I remember the note written with such concentration and so fiercely that the pencil often broke through the paper!

  15. That is so cute- my littlest monkey also loves to write 'lists' of what we are supposed to do- He always adds dinner 'menu' items- I WISH they were sushi- more like chicken nuggests.

    Lovely to meet you!
