Door love...

In amongst all the slicked up, glossy and rather groovy front door makeovers in the streets around here is this front entrance to a rather  rundown little wooden cottage. It's like a traditional Kiwi bach (holiday home) in the middle of the inner-city suburbs. I rather like it.

Happy Friday to all.

  1. Okay, so is this going to be a regular weekly series, Ann? And has anyone opened the door just as you were photographing it? Chuckling in Hobart J x

  2. I read in "The Poetics of Space" the chapter on the dialetics of outside and inside: How concrete everything becomes in the world of the spirit when an object, a mere door, can give images of hesitation, temptation, desire, security, welcome and respect. If one were to give an account of all the doors one has closed and opened, of all the doors one would like to re-open, one would have to tell the story of one's entire life.
I too like this door. It is an image of sensibillity and doen't conform to fickleness. It is classically true to itself.

  3. It does have that certain something about it, doesn't it.

  5. I agree with you, StylishIrish. The shot made the scene look more candid yet stylish. Anyway, that door is lovely! It gives me an impression of retro homes with retro doors. I just love its unique design. :]
